Hard Drive Destruction and Shredding

SMS offers the ultimate in Data Destruction — hard drive shredding. This process is used when the hard drive sanitizing process does not address your cost or in-house compliance standards. Our shredding process results in particle sizes from less than ¼ inch up to 2 inches in diameter.

Hard Drive Sanitization

SMS performs all levels of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act Standard) and DOD (5220.22M Standard) compliant disk sanitizing on PCs and servers alike. Our process ensures that your hard drive is cleared of data and/or destroyed, including removal of all identifying labels and asset tags as required.

  • Software solution for sanitizing, or data shredding of up to 200 drives simultaneously
  • Eliminate information from all types of IDE, SATA, and SCSI drives
  • A detailed log file is generated identifying that sanitizing was 100% successful
  • If any error is detected, the hard drive is pulled and tagged to be destroyed as described in Hard Drive Destruction
  • If a hard drive is not detected by the host system, the hard drive is automatically destroyed as described in Hard Drive Destruction
  • SMS's Certificate of Sanitization is issued upon completion
