SMS HotSparesdelivers working parts from our labs to your data center !

HotSpares™ provides our clients with the highest level of system continuity and the best Mean Time to Repair in our market. When a service call is made, SMS Field Engineers diagnose the problem, and show up on site with part in hand ready to repair your system. These parts came from fully operational systems that we keep in our local service centers. SMS will swap-out a malfunctioning component and get your system up quickly, then take the component to the SMS Service Center where it is tested to validate the repair.

Local HotSpares™ is an SMS Strategy of setting up live systems in all of our service centers which can be utilized in the following ways to the benefit of our clients and engineers:

  • HotSpares™ guarantees that SMS has working parts when needed to fix your system.

  • HotSpares™ eliminates DOA parts. It gives us the capability to test all the spare parts that support your site.


  • HotSpares™ can be used as Test systems to check software and firmware changes prior to installing them on your production systems.


  • HotSpares™ systems can be utilized to troubleshoot intermittent software problems that you may have with your critical servers.


  • HotSpares™ gives us the capability to enhance the skill level of field engineers that support your site.


  • HotSpares™ gives us replacement servers to provide a speedy resolution in case of a catastrophic failure.


Delivering this high level of service is heavily dependent upon the skills of the Field Engineers and the resources (i.e. parts, support tools, software) they have at their disposal. SMS invests significant resources in training our engineers through OEM sponsored or similar technical classes. What further supplements this training, and separates us from all our competitors, is our unmatched commitment to running HotSpares™ in each of our service centers to support our clients.
