Maintenance Support

When a failure is first detected, we take the required parts from our working lab environment, for your system and perform an equipment swap at your site. We call this our HotSpares™ replacement program. HotSpares™ does not end our quality control process.  The suspect part is removed from your facility and inserted into our Service Center lab where it is tested.  When the problem appears in our lab, we know we have resolved your problem, and we replenish the defective part.

Total Asset Management

When many people look at the lifecycle of an asset, they generally note that the greatest cost is the cost of the new asset, or capital outlay.  SMS looks at an asset from acquisition through its service life, and on to retirement.  Our goal is to help you minimize the, ongoing, operating costs, and maximize the assets useful life.  Put another way, we help you reduce your total cost of ownership.  We can help in the following ways:

  • Acquiring the product from a certified reseller or broker
  • Maintaining the product by blending the OEM warranty with SMS support to maximize its useful life
  • Retiring the asset to recapture value if possible while certifying eco-friendly disposal

Our goal is to extend the useful life of the asset, well beyond what the original manufacturer intended.

Data Center Relocations

SMS understands that organizations have limited internal resources for relocations, and this is why SMS offers various service choices for our customers.  Relocations are not a "one-size-fits-all" service. Each customer has specialized requirements that must be addressed. We provide:

  • Basic device migration for very low risk, low cost moves
  • Oversight migration for moves involving highly critical servers or a large number of servers
  • Consulting migration services where we help you write the plan for the move
  • Optional maintenance and insurance coverage
