Site Audits and Sparing
We start the transition process to SMS service by registering your serial numbers, IOS versions, firmware versions, and general equipment configurations in our secure web portal: singlePoint™. The local SMS field engineering team conducts a detailed site audit, updates the equipment information in your singlePoint™ customer file, and orders the spare parts needed to properly support your environment.
All required spare parts are tested and staged at your local SMS Service Center, not some remote centralized depot.
We know that continuous change in the data center is inevitable. Systems, storage, and network devices move all the time. It is easy to forget to add equipment to your existing SMS maintenance contract. If an incident should arise, SMS will service your equipment if we have the spares and do not invalidate any other contract using Fix-IT-First™. We will add the device to your SMS contract, and then adjust your monthly billing accordingly (some restrictions apply).
